Family Acceptance Project™ http://familyproject.sfsu.edu/publications
Download multi-lingual family education materials from the Family Acceptance Project™ (FAP) to help diverse families support their lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) children and to decrease their risk for serious health problems – including suicide. These Family Acceptance Project™ publications are also a “Best Practice” for suicide prevention for LGBT people (from the national Best Practices Registry for Suicide Prevention): http://familyproject.sfsu.edu/publications
The Family Acceptance Project™ – directed by Dr. Caitlin Ryan at San Francisco State University – studies how family acceptance and rejection affects the health and mental health of LGBT young people. FAP is developing the first research-based family model to help families support their LGBT and gender variant children, to reduce their risk and promote well-being. This includes a range of research-based resources and tools for families, providers and youth.
